Abstract

Indonesia has a tropical climate and high biodiversity potential. Plant diversity in Indonesia is at the third level in the world, including ferns. Many ferns are found in the highlands, one of which is the Kakek Bodo Prigen waterfall tourist area. The diversity of ferns in the Kakek Bodo Prigen waterfall area has not been identified at all. The objectives of this study are 1) To determine the types of ferns in the Kakek Bodo Prigen waterfall area, 2) To determine the diversity index of ferns, and 3) To determine the important value index of ferns. The location used in this research is the Kakek Bodo Prigen waterfall area. This research used descriptive exploratory method with purposive sampling technique, this research was conducted on 30 plots with a quadrant size of 2x2 m. Data analysis of fern species and response of ferns to the waterfall. Data analysis of fern species and student responses to the output of research results were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. The results of the research in the Kakek Bodo Prigen waterfall area there are 31 species of ferns from 13 family. The diversity of ferns in the area is classified as moderate, with a diversity index of H'=2.97. The highest importance value index in this study was 29.86% with the type of Adiantum capillus-veneris.
