Diversity and Abundance of Bivalves at Pasir Panjang Beach Wates village Lekok Pasuruan
Main Article Content
Abstract
Bivalves belong to the mollusc phylum which is one type of invertebrate animal that has a characteristic shell. This study aims to analyze the morphology of Bivalves based on the diversity index and abundance index at Pasir Panjang Beach, Wates Village, Lekok District, Pasuruan Regency. Sampling was carried out during low tide using the purposive sampling method, which used 10 transects and 10 plots. In addition, measurements of environmental physical and chemical parameters were also carried out as supporting data. The results showed that the Bivalves found consisted of 7 orders of 14 Bivalve species from the orders Veneroida, Arcoida, Ostreoida, Ostreida, Mytiloida, Venerida, and Adapedonta. The diversity index value, is 1.251 or included in the medium category. The highest abundance value is found in the species Crassostrea Gigas, namely 6804 and the relative abundance value is 58.80%. Meanwhile, the lowest abundance value is found in the species Paphia Undulata, which is 9 and its relative abundance value is 0.08%. The measurement results of physical and chemical parameters are still in the optimal range in accordance with the standard quality of seawater for marine biota. In order to utilize and manage bivalves sustainably in the waters of Pasir Panjang Beach, Wates Village, similar research is needed periodically.
