Abstract

Based on the results of observations at Al-Yasini Excellent High School, biology learning at school is less attractive for students. Students quickly become less enthusiastic when participating in biology learning because it is still taught conventionally without involving students in the learning process so that students are not active when participating in learning. The learning media used in biology learning uses whiteboards and powerpoint media so that learning activities are ineffective because many students are sleepy. This study aims to determine the influence of the learning model of team game tournament (TGT) assisted by question card media on the motivation and cognitive learning outcomes of high school students with excretion system material. This study is a quasi-experimental research using a nonequivalent control group design, where class XI MIPA 1 is the experimental class and XI MIPA 3 is the control class. Data analysis using Independent Sample t-test. The results of this study show that (1) The results of the Independent Sample t-test of the learning motivation questionnaire stated that Ho was rejected with a score of sig. (2-tailed) of 0,000 (2) The results of the Independent Sample t-test test of cognitive learning results stated that Ho was rejected with a score of sig. (2-tailed) by 0,000. This leads to the conclusion that the learning model of team game tournament (TGT) assisted by question card media has an effect on the motivation and cognitive learning outcomes of high school students of excretory system material.
