Diversity and Abundance of Echinodermata at Pasir Panjang Beach Wates Village Lekok Pasuruan

Abstract

Pasir Panjang Beach, located in Wates Lekok Village, Pasuruan Regency, is one of the coastal areas that has high potential for marine resources. One of the aquatic ecosystem components of concern is sea cucumbers, starfish and sea urchins which are included in the Echinodermata phylum. This study aims to analyze the Echinodermata phylum based on the diversity index and abundance index at Pasir Panjang Beach, Wates Village, Lekok District, Pasuruan Regency. The type of research was purposive sampling method using 10 transects and 10 plots. The results of the study found as many as 3 classes of 9 species of the Echinodermata phylum from the Holothuroidea class (sea cucumber) ,namely the species Holothuria Edulis, Holothuria fuscogilva, Holothuria Vagabundadan Actinopyga Lecanora. Class Astropecten irregularis, Archaster Typicus and Anasterias sp and from class Echinoidea (Sea urchins), namely Clypeasteroida species. The species diversity index of the Echinodermata phylum has a level of diversity that is categorized as moderate in Pasir Panjang Beach, Wates Village, Lekok District, Pasuruan Regency with a diversity index value of 1.780. The species abundance index of the Echinodermata Filum has an abundance level that is categorized as moderate on Pasir Panjang Beach, Wates Village, Lekok District, Pasuruan Regency with an abundance index value of 100.00
