Developing a Handout on The Local Potential of Lake Ranu Grati for Class X SMA Pengembangan Handout Berbasis Potensi Lokal Danau Ranu Grati SMA Kelas X

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of handouts based on the local potential of Lake Ranu Grati as a learning medium for biology on ecosystems for tenth-grade high school students. The background of this research is the limited teaching materials relevant to the local context and the lack of print media that are engaging and encourage active student engagement in the learning process. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The subjects were 20 tenth-grade students at Syarif Hidayatullah Grati High School. Data were collected through interviews, observations, validation questionnaires from material and media experts, and user response questionnaires.The validation results from material experts showed that the handout was categorized as "feasible" with a score of 62.50%, while validation by media experts resulted in a score of 83.33%, categorized as "very feasible." Teacher and student responses to the product were also very positive, with feasibility scores of 88% and 86%, respectively. 
Furthermore, the use of this handout demonstrated improved student learning outcomes based on cognitive evaluations before and after the treatment. From these results, it can be concluded that the handout based on the local potential of Lake Ranu Grati is declared valid, feasible, practical, and effective as a biology learning medium in improving student learning outcomes in ecosystem material.
