Improving Biology Learning Outcomes Through Video-Based Problem Based Learning (PBL) for Class X Students MA Informatika Darul Ulum Candiwates

Abstract

This research was motivated by several problems that occurred in learning activities at MA Informatika Darul Ulum Candiwates, so that the learning outcomes obtained by students had not reached the predetermined KKM. Based on observations, it is known that the learning outcomes in class X MA Informatika Darul Ulum Candiwates according to the biology teacher in the first interview, students have difficulty understanding biology material, students lack focus when receiving learning and students' learning concentration is still lacking, this is a trigger for student learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to determine the improvement in biology learning outcomes through based video Problem Based Learning (PBL) in students class X MA Informatika Darul Ulum Candiwates. This research is included in Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. One cycle consists of 4 activity stages, namely the planning stage, implementation stage, assessment/observation results stage, and reflection. The subject of this research is a class, with a total of 18 students consisting of 13 male students and 5 female students X MA Informatika Darul Ulum Candiwates studying Biology for the 2023/2024 school year using the independent curriculum. The data collection technique used in this research is qualitative data analysis. The results of this research show that student learning outcomes in cycle I were 6% and in cycle II there was an increase of 83% to 89%.
